Lakeshore is only 30 minutes away from the USA border with direct access through Highway 401.

Lakeshore’s urban area is concentrated around Country Road 22 which provides a direct link to the City of Windsor.

Situated in southern Ontario along Lake St. Clair, Lakeshore enjoys a temperate climate year-round with more than 200 growing days. Lakeshore’s affordable lakefront community enjoys over 35 km of waterfront. Highway 401 dissects Lakeshore with 5 exits within the municipality.

As a municipality within Windsor-Essex, Lakeshore is located at the heart of the richest consumer market in the world and has access to the United States via the Windsor-Detroit border.

Major industry and employers in Lakeshore include a high concentration of auto related supply plants and tool and mold shops, as well as a labour force for similar industry in Windsor-Essex. Commercial property is concentrated along County Rd 22.

The Municipality offers the Lakeshore Community Benefit Fund Grant. The grant provides funding for organizations seeking financial assistance that directly benefits the general public within the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The Belle River on the Lake Business Improvement Area (BIA) represents a portion of Lakeshore’s community of Belle River. This association is comprised of business professionals, within a designated district, who join forces under the approval of the Municipality, in a self-help program purposed at stimulating local trade and commerce.

Lakeshore’s Atlas Tube Centre (multi-use recreation facility) offers 3 NHL sized rinks, an indoor track, several meeting rooms, a conference centre, a fully serviced public library, a gymnasium, over 20 soccer fields, tennis courts, multi-use courts and an aquatics complex with a lap pool, zero entry pool, lazy river, therapeutic pool and outdoor splash pad. Outside, the facility is rounded out with basketball courts, tennis courts and a 5 km multi-use trail.

Lakeshore also offers an 8-screen cinema as well as high definition virtual indoor golf complex, state-of-the-art 36-hole miniature golf with animatronics and waterfalls, beach volleyball courts with outdoor pool tables, ping pong tables and horseshoe pits.

Enjoy boating? Lakeshore’s Belle River Marina is a full-service deep-water marina with 300 seasonal and transient docks. Lakeshore boasts several other marinas along our waterfront.
