WINDSOR-ESSEX, ONTARIO (May 26, 2022) – Today, Invest WindsorEssex (IWE), the lead economic development organization for the Windsor-Essex region, hosted their 2021 annual general meeting at Caesars Windsor. The event was held in-person for the first time since the onset of the pandemic and welcomed over 100 community partners, business clients and stakeholders.
This year’s meeting reported on the 2021 business development accomplishments and activities including performance metrics and the corporation’s financials. The 2021 annual report was released and can be found on the Invest WindsorEssex website.
The event also included a presentation from keynote speaker Flavio Volpe, President of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA), who provided an overview of the automotive industry and the future of Windsor-Essex, Ontario and Canada as global leaders in next generation automotive production.
Danies Lee, Vice President and Project Lead for LG Energy Solution (LGES), spoke to the new battery plant investment in Windsor. Having lead this critical project between Stellantis and LGES from initial incubation to the recent historic announcement, he discussed the next steps in project execution to ensure the readiness of the battery plant in Windsor in a timely manner.
