Roundtable on the impacts of U.S. tariffs on the automotive sector in Windsor-Essex

Invest WindsorEssex was honoured to host an engaging roundtable discussion centred around the Impacts of U.S. Tariffs on the Automotive Sector joined by the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister Responsible for the Federal Economic Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), along with Nancy Gardiner, President, and Linda Cousineau, Vice President of Business, Innovation and Community Development at FedDev Ontario.

Moderated by our CEO, Gordon Orr, together with President and CEO of the Windsor Essex Chamber of Commerce, Ryan Donelly, the conversation included leading Windsor-Essex automotive companies and ecosystem partners to share firsthand perspectives on how U.S. tariffs are affecting both current operations and future growth plans. This important dialogue highlighted not only the challenges facing our region, but also opportunities to strengthen Canada’s automotive sector and explore diversification strategies. Together, we continue to advocate for policies that protect local jobs, drive innovation, and ensure the long-term competitiveness of our automotive industry.
