FedDev Ontario invests $1 million in Cedar Valley Selections Inc. to support its expansion
Windsor, Ontario – The food and beverage manufacturing sector is the second largest manufacturing sector in Windsor-Essex and is important for driving economic growth in the region. The Government of Canada understands the importance of supporting the competitiveness of our local food manufacturers as they bring new food products to the market and create quality jobs for Canadians.
Today, the Honourable Ruby Sahota, Minister of Democratic Institutions and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), along with Irek Kusmierczyk, Parliamentary Secretary for Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages and Member of Parliament for Windsor–Tecumseh, visited Cedar Valley Selections Inc., a family-owned company that produces pita chips. While there, Minister Sahota and PS Kusmierczyk toured the company’s new 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art space in Windsor, and heard about their plans to meet the growing demands of both Canadian and international customers.
To support Cedar Valley as it grows, Minister Sahota announced an investment of up to $1-million for the company to add specialized equipment to improve its production efficiency. With this new technology, Cedar Valley will be able to increase its competitiveness in the food manufacturing sector.
The Government of Canada is committed to working together to build a stronger, more sustainable future for manufacturers who are creating jobs and driving economic growth across Canada.
